DUANE'S POKER PALACE
NOW OPEN
HAPPY HALLOWEEN
Another spectacular poker year is quickly coming to an end. All the excitement of the leagues are coming to a close and the larger tourneys that some players attend, such as vegas big stack tourneys and the B.C. championships are very near. First and foremost I would like to congratulate the top 8 players that are playing in the final table in Charle's tourney. It is harder to make it than people give credit. there are a lot of very tough players in our leagues and if you can't attend all tourneys, it makes it even tougher.
As for the mox, i hope i am not congratulating anyone yet......lol. With Darryl in a solid lead, it will be tough for Bob C. or myself to catch him. But also a very tough thing to do is finish on top of this league. With a variety of different games and money added into the points, you need some strong finishes to even consider winning this award. Which brings me to my point.
I have just read Darryl's article and I disagree with his decision against Corey. I don't care how great of a read you have on someone, first you have to at least have outs when you make a move like that and 2nd you do have to think of the position in the tourney you are at before you put your life on the line . If you have that great of a read on someone, then wait until it counts and use it. If you get in every hand, and expect your reading ability to get you through the night. GOOD LUCK. Don't expect to win every hand you are in. Learn how to put a player on a hand, but in the same breath, learn that after every card that falls off the deck, may have helped that player.
So the point of this article is that no matter how great your poker skills are, you also have to play tourneys to finish high. Money is the main reason, but in Leagues where points matter, making your moves at the right time also ranks very high.

P.S. Good luck to all players going to Vegas. And also good luck to the people going to the B.C. championships. And a special good luck to Lianna who has won a satalite into the main event in the B.C.sHello Poker people,
I know it has been a long time coming, but the key to having a page is time. My theory on the subject, of time that is, is that when you find the time, you would rather be playing poker than talking about it.
I was hoping to have a spectacular opening poker story to start off my new page, but the truth of the matter is that i just don't have one.
My goal with this new page is to keep the reading light. So I will start with a typical arguement between Darryl and Myself. The argument consisted of when to push in an online tournament, and with what hand you would do it with. I am not going to bore you with the details, but what it boiled down to was that we were argueing the same mathamatical outcome.
So after we concluded that there was no right or wrong way to think or play it, I got to thinking. Questioning different types of plays is a common thing in the poker world. We all do it and we all have been in question. But before you go off the deep end about a play, put yourself on the other side of the coin first.
Anybody could tell you the right play after the cards come down, it's the playing before that matters.
Just ask the Brit.
